Welcome to virtually visit our Garden
and
Studios!

The paintings will be updated as time permits as well as the photos of the garden.

Gustafslund is located in the small village Edane, by the lake Värmeln in Värmland.

The village has a café, golf course,  bank,  grocery store,
pizza bakery etc. In the neighbourhood you will find Brunskog,
the home of the late Gustaf Fröding (a Swedish poet).
In late July an ”olden times” festival called Gammelvâla is held
on the promontory Skutboudden near Brunskog .
There you can experience demonstrations of
traditional handicrafts in an old  world environment.

A mile west of Edane you find the small city of Arvika ,
by the Glafsfjorden,
Sweden ’s northernmost Fjord.
Here you can go by boat from the Swedish west
coast via the
lake Vänern and Göta Canal
.

For those interested in art there is the Rackstad museum
and other exhibitions including various events,
an art exhibit and café at
Björknäs, the  SMU’s (Swedish missionary youths) summer-home.

Up north you find the beautiful nature preserve Kalvhöjden in Gräsmark.
A well preserved meadow with pruned trees and a marvelous view.
This meadow was one of the reasons for BrittMarie’s desire
to live in Värmland, some 16 years ago!

Last, a quote from one of England ’s most noted garden authorities, Christopher Lloyd:

I have no segregated colour schemes. In fact, I take it as a challenge to combine every sort
of colour effectively. I have a constant awareness of colour and of what I am doing, but if I
think a yellow candelabrum of mullein will look good rising from the middle
of a quilt of pink Phlox, I´ll put it there – or let it put itself there.
Many plants in this garden are self-sown and they often provide me with excellent ideas.
But I do also have some of my own".

We agree! So rejoice in colour and shape!
